Mastodon feed widget & free plan ; how to update feed?

Hi folks,

I am trying the Mastodon feed widget and I like it a lot. I am currently on the free plan. I know that the ‘auto refresh’ function is not available in the free plan.

But I do not seem to find a manual update function. The widget has a ‘refresh’ function but it does not refresh, reload the Mastodon posts.

I deleted a specific toot but it stays in the feed. Removing the widget and recreating it does not make a difference.

Here is the widget. ‘Freddie’ is shown but deleted at the Mastodon profile.

Does anyone knows how the refresh works? Is there a cache refresh every 48 hours or so? (what would be fine if so)

Hey @Walterbe, the Mastodon feed should get new updates once an hour automatically. If that’s not the case please lmk.

@Daniel Thanks for responding!
Well, as it is now 11 hours later and the feed has not refreshed it seems I can use the help.

This is the widget ID; eb8a3e5f-66ce-4a9f-b737-3049cdf1afee
And this is the Mastodon account Friends of Safe Haven Egypt (@catsfromegypt@mastodon.social) - Mastodon

Edit:
I just before responding here I send a new toot to make the difference more clear between the posts in the profile and in the widget. The new post, ‘Pere Noel’, has shown up in the widget. But the deleted post, ‘Freddie’, is still displayed.

The most important thing is that new posts appear. That deleted posts do not disappear is not ideal but workable.

Thanks for the feedback. We’ll check why new posts aren’t appearing.

As for deleted posts, at the moment we don’t have a way to know that, but you can use the editorial control to delete them from your feed manually.

Hi Daniel. Then there is not a technical problem.

New post do update in the widget. And if it is normal that deleted posts are not removed from the widget then that is that.

I do not know where that editorial control is that can be used to remove it manually. I looked at all the options in the widget control panel. I do not see anything relevant.

See above, when you open feed source there’s an “Edit Content” button you can click
